My older brother Steve played ball at SMA 3 years before me. and encouraged me to leave home in Monterrey to play football at SMA.  I was not sure what to expect.   I join Roy Markam in saying that Coach Newberry was a great influence for my two years at SMA.   The lessons learned are still with me.  We were winning both in football and track  (and basketball Coach Burch) and to this day, I recall with great pride Coach Newberry calling me a "workhorse".  Or was it mule??   He was tough but we all knew he loved us and wanted the best for us.   I will miss him.     Fordham  (No 14)   ps  do any of you teammates out there remember him smiling at us??  Are there any "mullets" out there?
