Dr. Newberry was a good friend and much beloved Professor. He is the one who changed the whole direction of my life and is responsible for the many good things that have happened to me and for the opportunity to have made so many great friends along the way. He is the one who prompted me to enter the field of Public Education by means of one of his wonderful inspirational speeches at a convention in Austin. It is a long story that we both chuckled at later on when I attended his Education classes at the University and at the times we met afterwards over the years. The Newberry family and the Miller family will always have a very special man to remember. I will never forget him or be able to thank him enough.
