Robert Baxter Sutherland of Luling, Texas was born September 24, 1932 in San Antonio, Texas. He went to be with the Lord January 16, 2014 at the age of 81. He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years Betty Jo Roberts Sutherland. Four daughters, Teresa and husband Terry Stewart, Brenda and husband Jimmy Stewart, Rhonda and husband Rick Farmer and Karen Sutherland. Six Grandchildren, Nicole and husband John Klein, Jarrod, Joseph, Cory and Sterling Stewart, Casey and husband Robert Perez. Three Great Grandchildren, four brothers, Sidney Brown, James Gee, Donald Gee, Michael Gee and one sister Janice Jasik as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Baxter was raised in Stockdale, Texas and attended Alum Creek School. He married Betty on March 4, 1956. He joined the U.S. Navy at the age 18 serving for 22 years in location all over the world such as Oakland, Ca. Guam and Bremerton, Washington. He retired as a Gunner Mate Technician Chief. He owned his own trucking company from 1978 until 2006. During his life he loved scuba diving, motorcycles, flying, camping and he spent many quality hours with his very large family that loved him so very much. A visitation be will Sunday January 19, 2014 from 6: 00 to 8: 00 P.M. at Finch Funeral Chapel, Stockdale, Texas.

Funeral Service will be held on Monday January 20, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. at the First Baptist Church 200 South 7th St. Stockdale, Texas 78160. Interment in the Stockdale Cemetery, 113 Cemetery St. Stockdale, Texas
