Rene Mungia, 49, of Yorktown, passed away Thursday, August 1, 2013. He was born January 24, 1964 in Yorktown, to the late Gilbert, Sr. and Teresa Rodriguez Mungia. He was a Catholic and a dispatcher for the City of Victoria.

Rene is survived by his brothers, Gilbert Jr, Martin, Roman, Valerio, Armando, and Ruben Mungia and Tony Campos; sisters, Gloria Gomez, Lucy Davila, and Debbie Alvarez; step-brother, Joe Nunez; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Yolanda Mungia and Alicia Barrera; and brother, Jimmy Mungia.

Visitation will be 4-8 PM with a rosary at 7 PM, Sunday, August 4, 2013, at Finch Funeral Chapel. Funeral mass will be 10 AM, Monday, August 5, 2013, at San Luis Catholic Church. Interment will follow at a later date.
