Mary Schirmer, age 93, of St. Hedwig, Texas, passed away on October 3, 2013. She was born on November 14, 1919 in St. Hedwig, Texas to Vincent Franckowiak and Hedwig (Padalecki) Franckowiak. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, Edmund Schirmer Sr., Alois Vogel; infant daughter, Beatrice Schirmer; grandson, Michael Clark; son-in-law, Ed Smith; brothers, Edward, Alois, Stanley, Joe, and John Franckowiak; sister, Gertrude Krueger. She is survived by her daughter, Alice Smith; son, Edmund “Sonny” Schirmer Jr. and wife Sharon; grandchildren, Vanessa Leibham, Brian Leibham, Bubba Lytle, Edmund Schirmer III and wife Rose, Brandy Jacobs and husband Tony, Sarah Wright, JoAnne Lehman and husband Troy; great-grandchildren, Mason Leibham, Ashlyn Wright, Nolan Wright, Mikayla Santa Cruz, Daniel Santa Cruz, Emma Lehman, Dylan Lehman, Torri Lehman; sisters, Rita Ristow, Tillie Kosub; sisters-in-law, Harriet Franckowiak, Lolly Franckowiak, Elizabeth Doege, Paulina Pundt, Helen Engelhardt; close family friends, Homer T. Melton and wife Sharon, Ivy Mitchell; numerous nieces, nephews and many loving friends. Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 6th from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Finch Funeral Chapel-La Vernia, Texas. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM.
