John C. Rios, age 85, of Smiley, died November 19, 2013 in Gonzales. He was born August 19, 1928 in Smiley to Felipe and Carmen (Cantu) Rios. John is preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Irene (Almaguer) Rios. He is survived by his children: Ruben A. Rios, Elvia Calderon, and Raul A. Rios all of San Antonio; 9 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Viewing and visitation will be held Friday, Nov. 22nd from 5 PM – 8 PM at Finch Funeral Chapel of Nixon with a Rosary recited at 7:00 PM. The funeral service will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Nixon on Saturday, Nov. 23rd at 10:00 AM with Father Ouseph Kuriakose officiating. Burial will follow at the Nixon Latin American Cemetery.
