Ernest Lee Bruns, 90, of Yorktown, passed away Sunday, September 29, 2013. He died at home peacefully in his sleep, less than a mile from where he was born. He was born May 8, 1923, to the late Anton and Frieda Gruetzmacher Bruns. He was a farmer and worked for DOW Chemical Company for almost 30 years. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church.

Ernest is survived by his sons, James E. Caso and Ernest Lee Bruns, Jr.; brother, Carol James Bruns and wife Kathy; grandchildren, Paula Spinks, Eddie Wyndell Caso, Bobby Caso, Gaylene Caso, Raymond Caso, Kay Etheridge, Cindy Davis, Bobby Davis, Jan Greco, Glenn Davis, Chris Caso, George Caso, Joe Anderson; and James Cook; numerous great-grandchildren and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Katherine; sons, Edwin R. Caso, and Billie Wayne Caso; and daughter, Dorothy Sue Hartley.

Visitation will be 5-8 PM, Thursday, October 3, 2013, at Finch Funeral Chapel. Funeral service will be 2 PM, Friday, October 4, 2013, at St. Pauls Lutheran Church. Interment will follow at Westside Cemetery. Following the interment, there will be a reception at the St. Paul Lutheran Church fellowship hall.
