Edward C. Volkmer, 82, of Yorktown, passed away Monday, December 23, 2013. He was born August 21, 1931, in Victoria County, to Charlie and Aline Urban Volkmer.

Edward is survived by his wife of 55 years, Jenell Martin Volkmer; children, Debra (Tony) Naranjo, Laura Volkmer, Nancy Garcia, Dale Volkmer, Linda Volkmer and Jeff (Dani) Volkmer; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Sabrina, Haley, Abigail, Jacob, Evan, Paige and Heather; siblings, Rosie Lee Stehling, Virgil Volkmer and Sharon Gonzales.

He was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Denise Garcia; and sister, Gloria Pulsifer.

Visitation is 1-2 pm and service at 2 pm, Thursday, December 26, 2013, at Finch Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow at Westside Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be William Stehling, Gary Stehling, Steve Zielonka, Tony Naranjo, Eric Mickle, and Cruz Gonzales. Honorary pallbearers will be his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
