We talked

One day I went to talk to mr. Pargman to see if I could write a speech about him and his time in Vietnam. He had told me that he really didn't talk about those days any more. I had told him that I understood. So we just take a lil about this are that he showed me the collection of weapons from that era. They were amazing. He said he wanted to show me his pool table area. We talked and the next thing you know he was sharing about the war. I had told him before that I had such a great deal of respect for all men a d women that served in Vietnam for the terrible war and the for the way they were treated when they came home. It breaks my heart. But anyway I said he didn't have to. But he talked and I listened and just kept listening. When it was over we both had some tears in our eyes. I stood up and said sir I would like to shake your hand and say thank you, thank you for everything that you have done for us. We shook hands and hugged a quick hug. We sat around smoked a cigarette had a few jokes and I told him that I really had to go I needed to write my speech. For speech class. I really appreciate what he had done not just for the paper but for being ae,to share some of the stuff that a person can only tell those that are lucky enough to be trusted and close enough to be called friends. I do very much consider him and his family my friends. I will miss him very much. He is a great man. The Lord has taken another great person home.
