Obituary for Dennis Eugene McGlothine

Dennis Eugene McGlothine, age 80, of Leesville, passed away Friday, August 23, 2019 in Luling. Eugene was born January 5, 1939 in Pilgrim to Willie Dave and Maudie Lou (Fischer) McGlothine. His parents; son, Willie Dave McGlothine; two sisters and four brothers precede him in death. Eugene is survived by his wife of 61 years, Minnie “Minnie Bell” McGlothine; children, Anna Shows (James), Dennis McGlothine (Sharen), Danny McGlothine (Tabbatha) and Cathy Elder (Jeff); grandchildren, James Shows, Kellie Ivey, Cody Shows, Shaun McGlothine, Kristen Priddy, Debbie Lamb, Ryan McGlothine, Heather Kitchens, Shalee McGlothine, Rebecca “Boo-Boo” McGlothine, Danny Eugene McGlothine, Ashley Wishert, Sarah Elder and John Elder; numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other loving family and a host of friends. A visitation will take place Thursday, August 29, 2019 from 9:00am to 10:00am at Finch Funeral Chapel, Nixon.

FUNERAL SERVICE

The Reverend Jack Shuford will officiate at the service. Interment will follow in the Old Smiley Cemetery in Smiley. Pallbearers will be James Shows, Cody Shows, Shaun McGlothine, Ryan McGlothine, Jeff Elder, Chris Kitchens, Zach Ivey and Junior Heffington. Honorary pallbearers will be Khristopher Kitchens, Tyler Shaver, Ethan Lamb, John Elder, Chris Brown and Danny “Bubba” McGlothine. If desired, memorial contributions may be made in Eugene’s name to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at www.stjude.org.
