Carreen Markgraf Welch, age 73, of LaVernia, Texas passed away on December 25, 2013. She was born on April 16, 1940 in Seguin, Texas. She was the daughter of Hugo Willie Markgraf and Edna (Mattke) Markgraf and the twin sister of Carolyn Markgraf West. Carreen was preceded in death by her parents and Tommy Anderson. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church. Carreen grew up in LaVernia and graduated from LaVernia High School in 1958 and then attended Draughns Business College in San Antonio. She worked at Kelly Air Force Base as a budget analyst for 35 years. Carreen spent many happy years with her companion, Tommy Anderson and enjoyed gardening, country western dancing, shopping and playing with her dogs. She is survived by her sister, Carolyn; nephew, Charles West and many loving friends. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 27th from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Finch Funeral Chapel in LaVernia.
