Alfred L. Cadena Sr., age 89, passed away June 21, 2013 in Seguin. Alfred was born to Henry F. and Helen J. (Lyro) Cadena on August 7, 1923 in San Antonio. Alfred was a member of the Knights of Columbus (4th Degree) and the American Legion, Post 1539. He was preceded in death by his parents and son in law, David Lesczynski. Alfred is survived by his wife, Pauline “Polly” A. Cadena, St. Hedwig; son, Alfred L. Cadena Jr. and wife Florence, Santa Maria, CA; daughter, Bettie Kay Lesczynski, San Antonio and Nancy Ann Cielencki and husband Gregory, La Vernia; 8 grandchildren; 1 great granddaughter; sister, Ernestine Cade, Schertz; brother, Jake Chain, Pasadena; 5 nieces and nephews and a host of friends. A visitation will take place Sunday beginning at 6pm and a Rosary Vigil at 7pm at Annunciation BVM Catholic Church in St. Hedwig.

Father Ricardo Hernandez will be officiating the Mass. Interment will follow in the Annunciation BVM Catholic Cemetery. If desired, memorial contributions may be made in Alfred’s name to the Annunciation BVM Catholic Church Kitchen Fund or to the Guadalupe Regional Medical Center, Seguin.
