On July 8, 2019 Winona H. Alder, 98, passed away peacefully at home in La Vernia, Texas. Winona was born Winona Wilma Hunt on January 25, 1921 at her family home in Battle Creek, Michigan to Donald and Gilla (Harris) Hunt. Winona was married to Lt. Col Albert V. Alder, Sr. whom has preceded her in death along with her parents, and daughter, Lynn (Alder) Thomas. She will be dearly missed by her sons, Albert “Al” V. Alder, II and Andrew V. Alder-LaRue (Buddy); grandchildren, Rebecca Andrews and Deborah (Thomas) Galle; great-grandchildren, Faith Marie Galle, Amanda Galle, Michelle Galle, Thalia Andrews, and Theodore Andrews; sister, Geneva Frysinger; son-in-law, Clifford Thomas; numerous nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends. A visitation will be held on Friday, July 12, 2019, 1:00pm-2:00pm at Finch Funeral Chapel in La Vernia.
