Obituary for William "Bill" Walls Jr.

William "Bill"  Walls Jr.
William “Bill” Walls, Jr. entered into eternal rest on December 1, 2015 at the age of 86 years. He was born on July 29, 1929 in Fosterburg, Illinois to William and Alice (Pence) Walls. Bill married Irene Real on November 19, 1955 and recently celebrated 60 years of marriage. He was a strong man who provided for his family through his love of farming and ranching. His children and grandchildren spent many hours together working the fields. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and making sausage and panhas with his family. Bill honorably served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He is preceded in death by his parents; his siblings, Violet, Rosemary, Pansy, and Albert “Sonny”; his daughter, Denise Gootee; and grandson, William “Butchy” Walls. Bill is survived by his loving wife, Irene; children, Linda (Warren) Weigand, William “Butch” (Penny) Walls, Michael (Belva) Walls, Greg (Kim) Walls, Kathy (Bruce) Fohn, Pam Mikolajczyk, Steve (Colette) Walls, and Gene (Tisha) Walls; son-in-law, Tom Gootee; 32 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ralph (Dora Lee) Real, Leroy (Nelda) Real, Raymond (Florence) Real, Jerome (Florence) Real, and Wallace (Joyce) Real; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Gentiva Hospice and staff for their loving care of Bill. A visitation will be held on Friday, December 4, 2015 from 5:00pm – 8:00pm at Finch Funeral Chapel in La Vernia, TX. The Rosary is to be recited at 7:00pm.

St. Jerome Catholic Church
Interment to follow at St. Jerome Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be his grandsons Stephen, Andrew, Allen, Aaron, Nicholas, Casey and Mason Walls and Brandon and Sheldon Mikolajczyk. Father Gustavo Montañez will be Officiant of the services.
