On April 8, 2021, Vera Butler passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her devoted family. Vera was born on April 11, 1929 in Yorktown, Texas to Otto Koopmann and Lillie (Hengst) Koopmann. Vera married William E. “Buck” Butler on September 12, 1948 in Yorktown, Texas. They enjoyed a long, full life together until his death in 2013. Vera is also preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Ryan W. Butler; and siblings, Melvin Koopmann, Gilbert Koopmann, Hilmer Koopmann, and Doris Roeder.

Left to cherish Vera’s memory are her sons, Gary Butler and wife, Charlene of Nixon, Texas, and Rodney Butler and wife, Dawn of Berclair, Texas; grandchildren, Ross Butler and wife, Kacey, Tallis Butler, Jadan Butler, and Braxton Butler; great-grandchildren, Hank Butler and Tayte Butler; sister, Earlen Jalufka; brother, William Koopmann; sister-in-law, Dorothy Simek; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other loving family.

A visitation with the family will be held on Saturday, April 10, 2021 from 9:00am-10:00am at Finch Funeral Chapel in Nixon.

The Funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 10, 2021, at 10:00am at Finch Funeral Chapel in Nixon.
Following the service, burial will be at Nordheim Cemetery in Nordheim. Pastor Rhonda Troll will be officiant of the services along with Ann Koopmann. Serving as Pallbearers will be Ross Butler, Braxton Butler, Kirby Jalufka, Wesley Janik, John Tieken, and William Warwas.
