Obituary for Thomas William Brown

Thomas William Brown
December 18, 1943 – September 4, 2021

Tommy Brown went to be with his Lord on September 4, 2021 at the age of 77 surrounded by his family. He was born on December 18, 1943 in Columbus, Ohio to Thomas and Edith Brown.
His family moved to Randolph AFB when he was 6 years old and later moved to San Antonio, Texas. He graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1961 and then attended San Antonio College for 2 years. He graduated from Basic Training and was hired by San Antonio Police Department. During this time, he met the love of his life, Judy Ann Basham, and they were married on October 8, 1968. He was drafted to Vietnam and served a term of 1.5 years with the US Army. He then returned home and worked for SAPD for 22 years. After his retirement with SAPD he was elected as Guadalupe County Commissioner where he served 1 term. He then returned to work at SAPD for another 10 years. Tommy was in charge of the Police Association Picnic for numerous years. He was a lifetime member of Bexar Bowling Alley where he served as President for a number of years. During his years of bowling, he won numerous trophies. He also served as a member of the Guadalupe County Youth Show helping out in many activities at the shows.
Tommy is preceded in death by his parents Thomas and Edith Brown.
Tommy is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Judy; sons, Troy Brown (Nancy), John Corkran (Loretta); 5 grandchildren, Joshua Brown (Kaci), Trent Corkran (Collette), Danielle Campos (Justin), Avery Corkran, Sheyenne, Garrett Corkran, Kaymey. Also, 4 great-grandchildren, Carson Corkran, Brookelynn Campos, Jaxon Corkran, Colter Brown; nephews, Paul Garcia (Kay Lynn), Roy Garcia (Yvette); numerous other nieces, nephews and many extended family and friends.
Tommy devoted his life to his family. He loved fishing, umpiring, and bowling. He dearly loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He attended many of their sporting events. No matter what they were involved in he was their biggest fan and supporter.
A Celebration of Life will take place at Bexar Hall, 15681 Bexar Bowling, Marion, Texas 78124, on September 21, 2021 at 3:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
