Sharon Ann Brown Green passed away quietly at University Hospital in San Antonio, Texas at 3:20 am on January 24, 2016. Sharon was the 4th child born to Tom Willis Brown and Annie Ruth Brown on September 21, 1956. She received her education from Victoria Independent School District. Sharon married her high school sweetheart Robert Wimberely Green on October 17, 1999. She was an exceptional and devoted mother to her son, Victor Barefield. Sharon was a faithful and affectionate wife, mother, step-mother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, niece, and cousin. She had a way of bringing her family together in a loving and sociable way; a loyal friend to all who came in contact with her. Sharon joined Resurrection Baptist Church in San Antonio. She was a hard worker and retired from Judson Independent School District. She was a chef at heart, fabulous cook, and shared her special recipes with all. Sharon was preceded in death by her mother, Annie Ruth Brown (May 9, 1927 – December 15, 1997); father, Tom Willis Brown (September 21, 1925 – August 3, 2013); brother, Howard Lee Brown (January 22, 1954 – May 9, 1991); and nephew, baby Howard Lee Chillson (January 24, 2011 – May 20, 2011). She leaves to cherish her memory, husband, Robert Green of San Antonio, TX; son, Victor Barefield of Victoria of TX; step-sons Corey Green of Cuero, TX and Jonathan Green and wife Toria of San Antonio; step-daughters, Latisha Smoots and husband Jayme of Houston, TX, and Kimberley Green of Houston; sisters, Dorothy Brown of San Antonio, Katherine Lewis and husband Webb of Smithville, TX, Beverley Houston and husband Wyatt of San Antonio, Betty Taylor and husband Heathcliff of El Paso, TX, Geraldine Brigham of San Antonio, Jackie Tezeno and husband Manuel of San Antonio, Traci Stallion and husband Robert of La Vernia, TX, Edna Allen and husband Steve of Pflugerville, TX, Alonia Smith and husband Ed of San Antonio; brothers, Tom “Cliff” Brown of San Antonio, and Robert Brown and wife Sheryl of San Antonio; numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 30, 2016, 1:00 PM, at Finch Funeral Chapel in Nixon, TX with the funeral service beginning at 2:00 PM, also at Finch Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at Harris Rising Star Cemetery in Nixon. Memorials can be made in Sharon’s name to Harris Chapel United Methodist Church, Nixon, TX.
