Obituary for Robin A. Erickson

Robin Ann Erickson of La Vernia, Texas died September 17, 2023, at the age of 72. She battled infections for a month which eventually led to sepsis. Born in Alexandria, Minnesota to Robert (Bob) and Rosemary (Sis) Erickson on June 15, 1951.

Robin was always an excellent student with perfect attendance, she attended John F. Kennedy High School in Bloomington, Minnesota. After graduating in 1969 she moved to Texas to attend Texas Lutheran College where she graduated with a double major in English and Spanish. Robin was a great student with perfect attendance, so it was quite a natural fit for her to become a teacher. Robin continued living in Texas for the rest of her life teaching for more than 32 years in Seguin and Floresville, mostly 1st and 2nd grades in English, Spanish and American Sign Language.

In addition to teaching, Robin dedicated her life to cat rescue. Over the years we can easily estimate she helped save 300+ cats. Those were definitely her babies, having up to 21 of her own at one point. She was also a talented artist and shared her talent with many students in summer school art classes.

Robin was preceded in death by her parents, Bob and Sis. She is survived by her brother Joe and wife Kari; sister, Christy Erickson; nephew, Mark (Andi); niece Alicia (Jake); uncle, Bill; cousin, Kathy (Ron) in Alaska; special cousin, Linda in Minnesota; Texas family John, Kim, Zack, Cody, Dylan, Granny Barbie Jane Hineman, and many friends both in Minnesota, Texas and beyond.

A visitation will be held at Finch Funeral Chapel, La Vernia, Texas, Saturday, November 11, 2023, from 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM, with memorial service beginning at 3:00 PM.
