Rafael Mendez, Jr., 75, of Nixon, Texas passed into the arms of his Heavenly Father on February 1, 2021. Rafael was born on November 23, 1945 to Rafael Mendez, Sr., and Elena (Delva) Mendez. Rafael married Trina Ortiz on April 28, 1967. They enjoyed 53 years of marriage. Left to cherish his memory along with his wife, Trina are his children, Rafaela Valdez (Eddie), Daniel James Mendez, Ronald Joe “Ronnie” Mendez, and Rafael Fernando Mendez; grandchildren, Katrina, Kordell, Kinsey, Don Scott, Donna Maria, D’Angelo, Joey, Michael , Dominic, and Ruby; 10 great-grandchildren; brother, Santiago Mendez (Juanita); sister, Petra Giron (Pablo); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other loving family and friends. Rafael is preceded in death by his parents; son, Don David Mendez; brothers, Gabriel, Domingo, and Adolfo Mendez; and sister, Virginia Cisneros. A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 4, 2021, 1:00pm-2:00pm at Finch Funeral Chapel in Nixon, Texas.
