Philomena Dylla Grams, our beloved mother and best friend, went to be with our Lord on October 9, 2015 at the age of 92. She was born on April 13, 1923 to Phillip and Gertrude (Mikolajczyk) Dylla in Adkins, TX. Philomena married the love of her life and next-door neighbor, Eugene Grams. Together they were blessed with 63 wonderful years together and raised six children, two grandchildren, and a great-grandson. She enjoyed her family, country living, farming, gardening, cooking, baking, sewing, crocheting, dancing, playing bingo, and playing harmonica. She was also known as Minnie, always had the kindest word for anyone she met. Her beautiful smile and gentle soul will be missed by all who knew her. Philomena was a life-long and faithful member of Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in St. Hedwig where she was a member of the Rosary Society. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Grams; son, Eugene Grams, Jr.; sister, Regina Labus (Isadore); and brothers, Emil Dylla (Margie), Alfred Dylla, Sr. (Regina), and Albert Dylla. Minnie is survived by her sons, Erwin, Roy, and Timothy Grams; daughters, Geraldine and Jeanette Grams; grandchildren, Michael Grams (Ramona) and Katie Gray; great-grandson, Erik Grams; sister, Monica Gaylor (Roy); brother, Gilbert Dylla (Theresa); sisters-in-law, Alice and Mae Dylla; numerous nieces, nephews, and many friends. The family wishes to thank the Pecan Valley Rehabilitation Nursing Home nurses and staff for their support and care of Philomena during the past year. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at Finch Funeral Chapel- La Vernia and a Rosary will be recited that same evening at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at Annunciation of the BVM Catholic Church in St. Hedwig. Father Bill Zadora will officiate. Interment will follow at Annunciation of the BVM Catholic Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made by way of mass offerings or to the Annunciation of the BVM Catholic Church Rosary Society.
