Obituary for Pete "Mingo" Martinez
Pete “Mingo” Martinez of Smiley, Texas passed away on May 15, 2022 in Gonzales, Texas at the age of 59. Pete was born on June 17, 1962 in Nixon, Texas to Pedro Magana Martinez and Guadalupe Dominguez Martinez. He is preceded in death by his father Pedro, and nephew, Mark C. Martinez.
Pete is survived by his children, Angelique Taylor (Wilbur), Kassandra Perez (Daniel), and Michael Camarillo; grandchildren, Stasney Taylor, Cameron Ybarra, and Rylan Perez; mother, Lupe Martinez; brothers, Michael Martinez (Florence), Henry Martinez (Ruby), Damon Martinez, and Mark Martinez (Jessica); sisters, Erlinda Amaya (Rene), and Christina Martinez; and his best friend, David Mayfield.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 19, 2022, 5:00om-8:00pm, Rosary at 7:00pm, at Finch Funeral Chapel in Nixon. The Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, May 20, 2022, 10:00am, at St. Philips Catholic Church in Smiley, Texas. Interment will follow at Smiley Latin American Cemetery. Officiants of the services will be Father Paul Raaz and Deacon John Moreno.
