Obituary for Otto "O.F." F Bolting Jr.

Otto F. “O.F.” Bolting Jr. of Nordheim, Texas, passed away peacefully on February 4, 2023, in Cuero, Texas. A native of Nordheim, he was born to the late Otto F. Bolting Sr. and Alice Mueller Bolting on April 18, 1938. He was devoted to his family, faith, and community.

O.F. was proud to serve his country in the US Army overseas in many locations with his most memorable being in Germany. Upon his return he married Oma Hicks in Uvalde, TX, where they raised their daughter, Tammy. He worked for CP&L and was dedicated to his career, retiring with over 30 years of service. After the passing of Oma, O.F. married Katherine Sue Lewis and moved back to Nordheim. He was an active member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Yorktown, and served as a Nordheim Volunteer Fireman for several years. O.F. touched the lives of many and will be missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his daughter, Tammy “Sam” Garner and her wife, Carly; Stepson, Wayne Donaghe and his wife, Carol; Stepdaughter, Patricia Haby; Sister, Georgia Guzy; Sisters-in-law, Margie Bolting and Gladys Bolting; Step-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

O.F. was preceded in death by his parents, Alice and Otto; First wife, Oma Hicks Bolting and second wife, Katherine Sue Lewis Bolting. He was also predeceased by his sister, Iva Mae Bolting and brothers, John Bolting, and Carroll Bolting.

A Celebration of Life in honor of O.F. and Sue will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall in Yorktown, TX on Sunday March 5th at 2:00pm. A private inurnment for both O.F. and Sue will take place later at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be offered in memory of O.F. to the Nordheim Volunteer Fire Dept, or to the Alzheimer’s Association, or a charity of the donor’s choice.
