Minnie Lela McGuffin, 96, of Stockdale, TX passed away on Saturday, March 11, 2023 in Floresville, TX.
A visitation will be held on Monday, March 13, 2023 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Finch Funeral Chapel Stockdale. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at 10:00 AM at the Stockdale Church of Christ. Interment will follow at Stockdale Cemetery.
Lela was born on February 26, 1927 in Brady, TX to Robert Acca Tanner and Velma Gordon McElhaney Tanner. She married Hugh Lafette McGuffin on June 6, 1943 in Floresville, TX. Lela was an avid reader and until recently was reading 5 books a week. She loved to travel and enjoyed the beauty of wild flowers. Lela was always willing to help anyone in need and enjoyed caring for others.
Lela is survived by her children, Ronnie McGuffin and wife Delois, Sandra Bird and husband Joe, Clint McGuffin, and wife Babs; 8 grandchildren, Rocky McGuffin and wife Martha, Audra Donaho and husband Billy, Jennifer Gillet and husband Gary, Ronnie Len McGuffin and wife Kelly, Tracy Jensen and husband Ryan, Kelly Blakey and husband Greg, Jenny Sindt and husband Derek, Misty McGuffin; 14 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; daughter in-law, Barbara McGuffin; numerous extended family and friends.
Lela was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Tanner and Velma Tanner; husband, Hugh McGuffin; son, Tom McGuffin; siblings, Robert Tanner Jr., Ollie Tanner, Olive Tanner, Bessie Rogers and husband Melton, Thelma Oleta Tanner, Romie Lee Tanner; great grandson, Justin Lafette Donaho.
