Obituary for Mary Ann Fatheree

On January 27, 2023, the Lord called home his faithful servant, Mary Ann Fatheree. Mary was born on December 3, 1967 in Floresville, Texas to Sylvester Amos Fatheree Sr., and Laverne Moore Fatheree. She is preceded in death by her father as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Mary will be dearly missed in her community where she served the Lord and was well loved. Mary was a member of the Nixon City Council and was Lay Speaker for Dewville United Methodist Church, President of the United Methodist Women’s Women in Faith; winner of the Discipleship award from the Corpus Christi District of the UMC; and a graduate of the advanced course “Spiritual Gifts”, from Las Misiones Director of Lay Servant Ministries.

Mary was a faithful and devoted mother to her surviving daughter, Joycelyn Fatheree, and son Qwaylon Schelnick. Also left to cherish her memory is her mother, Laverne Moore Fatheree; brother, Sylvester Amos Fatheree, Jr. of Nixon and his children, Trey, Destinee, Amber, Treon, and Trevon; sister, Delores Jean Perales of Nixon and her husband Joe Frank, and their children, Daylon and Yrael Perales; brother Reuben Dwayne Fatheree of Richmond and his wife Lorraine, their children Lexi (husband Jake, and daughter Iyla), and Reuben “Deuce” Dwayne Fatheree II.

Visitation will begin at 10:00am on Monday, January 30, 2023, at Finch Funeral Chapel in Nixon, Texas. The Funeral Service will follow at 11:00am. Burial will be at Harris Chapel Rising Star Cemetery in Nixon. Pastor Rip Collins will be officiant of the services.
