Maria Guadalupe Serna, 85, of Nixon, Texas passed away peacefully at home on March 29, 2021. Maria was born in San Luis Potosi, Mexico on December 19, 1935 to Francisco Martinez Arriaga and Eusebia (Martinez) Arriaga. In 1963 she married Candido Serna. They were married 40 years before his passing in 2003. Maria is also preceded in death by her parents, 5 sisters, and 3 brothers. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Marina Veliz, Leticia Veliz, Raul Armando Serna and wife Rachael, Arturo Serna and wife Tammy, Gilbert Serna, and Candido Serna, Jr.; grandchildren, Juan Vicente Veliz, Norma Veliz, Wilfredo Veliz, Jennifer Veliz, Sergio Veliz, Alejandro Veliz, Jr., Emmanuel Christian Veliz, Everado Veliz, Johannah Zamora, Raul Serna, Jr., Amanda Serna, Saul Serna, Maddy Serna, Sam Serna, Nicolas Serna, and Anna Guadalupe Serna; numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other loving family and friends. A visitation will be held on Monday, April 5, 2021, 5:00pm-7:00pm, with the Rosary Vigil beginning at 7:00pm at Finch Funeral Chapel in Nixon, Texas.
