Obituary for Margie Genell Smith (Rab)
Our beloved wife and mother Margie Genell Rab LaPoint Smith passed away on Friday, the 15th of October 2021 in Cureo, Texas. She was 80 years old.
Margie Genell was born in the small Texas town of Ganado on 30 Dec 1940. She was a small town Texas girl; who over the course of her life became a small town Texas Lady who lived in Yorktown, Texas. She had a passion for the outdoors and the natural beauty of Texas. She was an artist, a photographer, a botanist and horticulturalist. She was a kind friend and a Christian lady to the end. She will be deeply missed by her Family and all of her friends.
She was survived by her husband Wayne Smith of Yorktown, Texas, her sons Anthony LaPoint (Shelly) of Sierra Vista, Arizona, David LaPoint (Mary) of Uhland, Texas, Reagan LaPoint (Lene), of Magnolia, Texas, Donna Hurta (Sam) of Wimberly, Texas, and Brad LaPoint (Michelle) of Katy Texas; siblings Lonnie Rab (Mattie) of Edna, Texas, and Joan Baker of New Braunfels, Texas. She is also survived by sixteen grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
Margie was preceded in death by her parents, Johnnie and Albina Rab of Edna, Texas.
A Rosary will be recited at 8:30 a.m. and visitation will be from 9:00-10:00 a.m. Friday, October 22, 2021, at the Holy Cross Catholic Church, in Yorktown. The Funeral Mass will then be held at 10:00 a.m. with Father Roger Hawes officiating. Interment will follow at the Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery.
