Obituary for Marcia Ann Gruetzmacher (Gruetzmacher)
Marcia Ann Gruetzmacher passed away on September 6 in Houston, Tx. She was the daughter
of Sybil Aldis Gruetzmacher and Willie Gruetzmacher who were born and raised in Cuero and
Yorktown. Though a life long Houstonian, Marcie spent every Thanksgiving and Christmas and
made numerous hot summer visits with her Cuero and Yorktown families. As an only child,
Marcie’s cousins, which include many of the area’s residents, filled the important need for
family in her life.
In addition to her cousins, Marcie is survived by her aunt Lillie Aldis of Gonzales and her
father’s cousin Clem Waskow of Yorktown.
Marcie’s Methodist faith strengthened and comforted her through long struggles with her own
health and while she cared for her parents in their final years. They were a small, tight-knit and
extraordinarily loving family.
There will be a graveside service at Hillside Cemetery at 12 noon on Thursday, September 14
where Marcie will be buried beside her beloved parents.
