Obituary for Luke Abraham Patrick Jr.

Luke Abraham Patrick Jr.
Luke Abraham Patrick, Jr.
December 28, 1943- December 1, 2015

Like the beautiful birds he loved so much,
Luke has winged his way to Heaven.
Guided by the Lord’s gentle touch,
and welcomed by angelic procession.

Luke Abraham Patrick, Jr. was born on December 28, 1943 to Luke Abraham Patrick Sr. and his wife, Myrtle Opal Baker, in Picher, Oklahoma. Picher was a mining town with mining derricks towering hundreds of feet into the air. As an adventurous boy, Luke (or Lukie Jr. as he was called when in trouble), climbed the towers to reach pigeons that he wanted to take home and raise. He was oblivious to the depths below and only looked upwards to reach his prize.

That is how Luke led his life; looking up, loving the Lord and trusting in God’s wisdom. He was a good son, brother, father, husband, father-in-law, uncle and a friend to all. He is survived by his loving wife, Brenda; brother, Wayne Patrick; sister-in-law, Peggy Patrick; sisters, Joan Rupp and Charlotte Orthman; daughters, Sandra Norris of Virginia, Kimberly Lund of Washington, Shelly Savage of Texas, and Kimberley White of Texas; and stepson, Timothy Miller also of Texas. He is also survived by seventeen beloved grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He loved spending time with each son-in-law, and was especially close to Ronald Savage.

When you miss him, don’t be down; look up and watch the birds fly and think of this kind man who loved his family and was truly gifted by God.
