Obituary for Lloyd E. Ashley

Lloyd E. Ashley passed away peacefully surrounded by loving family at his home in Adkins, Texas on December 29, 2020 at the age of 85. He was born on February 14, 1935 to Edward and Thelma (Johnson) Ashley in San Antonio, Texas. Lloyd married Nell Blandford on January 3, 1959, a treasured marriage of 62 years. Lloyd proudly farmed and ranched in Bexar, Atascosa, Wilson, and Frio Counties. He volunteered by serving many years on the Bexar County Farm Bureau and Soil and Water Conservation Board as a director. He also served for seven years in the United States National Guard. Lloyd, also known lovingly as “Pa”, cherished spending time with his ever-expanding family by quietly instigating schemes that involved the little ones getting into some sort of trouble. One of his favorite things in life was spending time with his family.
