Obituary for Lillie Mae Skrobarcek (Cheney)

Lillie Mae Skrobarcek, beloved wife, mother, grandmother passed into the arms of the Lord on December 1, 2019, at the age of 93. She was born Lillie Mae Cheney on October 28, 1926, in Raymondville, Texas, one of 10 children of Hiram Sinclair Cheney and Molly Maud (Clark) Cheney. Lillie married Prosper Joseph Skrobarcek on January 30, 1950. They were business owners, cattle ranchers, and farmers in La Vernia, Texas, where they resided for over 50 years. She was involved in numerous organizations such as Colonial Dames of the 17th Century and the Stephen F. Austin First 300 Settlers into Texas, called the Old 300. She was also a member of Daughters of the American Revolution, Daughters of the War of 1812, Daughters of the Republic of Texas, and Daughters of the Confederacy. Lillie is preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Meredith, 4 brothers and 5 sisters. She is survived by her children, Priscilla (Monty), and Frank (Mary Lee); grandchildren, Mollie, Lance, Brandi, Emily, Jordan, Lenny, and Roy; great-grandchildren, Tyler, Lily, Carissa, Bradin, Barrett, Cecily, and Brenley; as well as numerous other loving family and friends. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 4, 2019, 4:00pm-8:00pm at Finch Funeral Chapel in La Vernia.
