Obituary for Joyce Nell Quinney (Robbins)

Joyce Nell Quinney, 78, passed away February 15, 2024. She was born January 1, 1946, in Pandora, TX to
the late John and Mollie Gann Robbins. She married her husband, Robert Quinney, on July 10, 1965, at
Caddo Baptist Church. She started her career at USAA in San Antonio and after working many years in
the insurance business and living in Floresville, Victoria, Beeville, Macdona Lacoste and making lifelong
friends along the way, she settled back in Stockdale and retired from Felux & Associates. Joyce took
great pride in her grandkids and great-grandkids, gardening and growing colorful Zinnias in her yard
wherever she lived. She absolutely loved hummingbirds and listening to country music, most especially
Ray Price. She lived her final years at Floresville Residence and Rehab. and made many great friends
there, still enjoying her country music and becoming quite the bingo player!
Joyce is survived by her son, Lonnie Ray Quinney (Phyllis), grandson Taylor Quinney (Ashlynn),
granddaughter Kasey Correll (Michael) and great-grandchildren Blair and Taylee Quinney, Grant and
Lane Correll, her brother C.W. Robbins as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Robert Quinney, her beloved daughter Karen
Denise, her parents, and bothers John and Ace Robbins.
Visitation will be Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at 9:30 a.m. with funeral services to follow at 10:30 a.m. at
Union Valley Baptist Church, 8221 FM 1681, Nixon, TX, and burial immediately following at Pleasant
Valley Cemetery, Stockdale, TX.
Pallbearers are her grandsons Taylor Quinney and Michael Correll and her nephews Kenny, Michael,
Glen and Steven Robbins.
Honorary pallbearers are her granddaughters Kasey Correll and Ashlynn Quinney, and niece Janet
Robbins.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Union Valley Baptist Church.
The family would like to express our appreciation for the comfort and care she received from the ICU
nurses at Connally Memorial Medical Center in Floresville, all the staff and caregivers at Floresville
Residence & Rehab., and her sweet roommate and companion in her final years, Genoveva “Eva”
Martinez.
Matthew 11:28-30 - “Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my
yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your
souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
