Obituary for Joseph Frank Kopecki Jr.

Joseph Frank Kopecki Jr., of Nixon, passed peacefully surrounded by loved ones at his side on July 26, 2022. He was born October 4, 1943 in Denhawken, Texas to Otylia (Skrobarczyk) and Joseph F. Kopecki Sr.

Joe married Sharon Kay Moczygemba September 24, 1966. He was a farmer and rancher throughout his life and worked as a mechanic, retiring from the City of Nixon in 2007. He was actively busy, always tinkering with a project. Joe was fond of gardening and loved his fresh tomatoes. He was at home amongst his cattle and driving his Oliver tractors.

He is preceded in death by his wife; his parents; siblings Eva Kopecki, Louis B. Kopecki Sr., Henry Kopecki, Sister Mary Leonicia (Josephine); sisters-in-law Mary Lou Kopecki and Lucille Kopecki; brothers-in-law Fred Lyssy Sr., Adolph Ramos, and Peter Kotzur Sr.; and nieces and nephews Lucky Nichols and Josephine “Josie” Sheldon.

Joe is survived by his children Joseph F. Kopecki III of San Antonio and Patrick Kopecki and wife Katie of Seguin; His granddaughters Sarah and Shelby Kopecki; sibling me s Lillian Kotzur of Kirby, Dorothy Pilarczyk and husband Raymond of Falls City, Agnes Ramos of Falls City, Alice Kopecki of Hutto, and Adrian Kopecki and wife Phyllis of Denhawken; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at 8:30AM, at Finch Funeral Chapel in Nixon with a Memorial Rosary recited at 9:00AM. Father Ouseph Kuriakose will officiate. Burial will immediately follow.
