Obituary for John "Johnny" Manuel Hernandez
John “Johnny” Manuel Hernandez, 66, of Smiley, Texas was called to his eternal home on March 11, 2023. Johnny was born on June 15, 1956 in Nixon, Texas to Plutarco “Pete” Hernandez and Consuelo Peña Hernandez. Johnny is preceded in death by his mother. Johnny will be dearly missed by his daughter, Lisa McCaughey (William) of Round Rock, Texas; his father, Pete Hernandez of Smiley, Texas; sister, Hope Morales (Steve) of Victoria, Texas; brother, Andy Hernandez (Linda) of Victoria, Texas; nieces and nephews, Marla Vasquez (Roland), Myron Morales (Dolores), Andres Hernandez, and Talia Hernandez; great-nephews and niece, Xavier Vasquez, Matteo Morales, and Anisa Morales.
Johnny loved music and playing the guitar. He enjoyed gardening and barbecuing. He was a die-hard Los Angeles Rams and Los Angeles Lakers fan, win or lose. He also loved listening to The Eagles, his favorite band, and spending time with family and friends.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 16, 2023, 5:00pm-8:00pm, Rosary at 7:00pm, at Finch Funeral Chapel in Nixon, Texas.
The funeral mass will be held on Friday, March 17, 2023, 10:00am, at St. Philip Catholic Church in Smiley, Texas. Father Kuriakose Ouseph will officiate.
