James Charles Brooks, Jr., 79, of La Vernia, Texas passed away on November 14, 2019 at home surrounded by his family. James was born on December 4, 1939 in La Vernia to James C. Brooks, Sr. and Verna Mae (Wash) Brooks, whom have preceded him in death along with his sister, Dorothy Louise Williams. James is survived by his wife of 61 years, Lillie Marie Brooks; children, Debra Ross (Hank); Greig Rochelle Brooks (Maria), James Brooks III, and Adrian Wayne Brooks (Yvonne); grandchildren, Bridget Jones (Lamarl), Llamar Brooks (Whitney), Kristen Brooks, Robert Brooks (Heather), Brandon Brooks (Samantha), Dominique Brooks, Mariah Brooks, Codie Brooks, Kyle Ferrell, and Isabella Brooks; great-grandchildren, Jaron Cage, Gianna Brooks, Braelynn Brooks, Kamron Brooks, Amiyah Brooks, Cazden Brooks, and Zion Barnes. A visitation will be held on Friday, November 22, 2019, 4:00pm-8:00pm at Finch Funeral Chapel in La Vernia.
