Irene Brooks passed away on February 4, 2016 in Seguin, Texas at the age of 96 years, 11 months and 11 days. She was born in Guadalupe County, Texas on February 24, 1919 to Ervin and Flora Ann (Hartfield) Walker. She is preceded in death by her parents, one brother and one sister. She will be dearly missed by her six children, Lester Brooks Jr. and wife Mary Jane, Silvester Brooks, Donald Brooks, Jimmie Brooks and wife Diadra, Barbara Gust, and Emma Jean Brooks; grandchildren, Lester Brandon Brooks III, Ashley Brooks, Destiny Brooks, Brandi Brooks, Robbin Brooks, Eugene Brooks, Becky Brooks, Jayson Gust and wife Veronica, and Vanessa Gust; great-granddaughters, Breanna Brooks and Khloe Gust; four brothers, one sister, and numerous nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held on Monday, February 8, 2016, from 4:00pm – 8:00pm at Finch Funeral Chapel in La Vernia. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 9, 2016, 2:00pm, at Finch Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at Sweet Home Cemetery in Guadalupe County. Pastor Ernest Powell will be Officiant of the services.
