Helen Elizabeth Knapke, 93, of San Antonio, Texas passed away on January 9, 2020. Helen was born on March 28, 1926 in Huntington Township, Ohio to Wilbur Pendergraft and Minnie (Little) Pendergraft whom have preceded her in death along with her son, Eddie L. Knapke; and canine fur baby, “Willie”. Helen is survived by her sons, Steven A. Cartwright (Gina) and Paul W. Knapke (Tena); daughter, Rhea Jay Drzymala (Jim); 13 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and sister, Janet Thompson (Jack). Helen was the night supervisor at Earl Abel’s Restaurant at Broadway and Hildebrand for over 40 years, until her retirement. She loved her customers and enjoyed working with the Abel family. Gardening was her passion, along with spoiling her dog, Willie. Visitation with the family will be held at 10:15am, Friday, January 31, 2020, at St. Jerome Catholic Church in Martinez, Texas followed by the Rosary Vigil at 10:30am.
