Obituary for Filomena "Filo" Vigil
Filomena Vigil, 100 years old, of Nixon, Texas went to be in God’s grace on October 14, 2022. Filo, as friends called her, was born on August 11, 1922, in the small Texas town of Dewville, where the sun shined a bit brighter to her parents Baltazar and Antonia Vigil. Filo never married but her family meant everything to her. Filo loved to dance and is dancing in the presence of the Lord.
Filomena is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Carmen; brothers, Alejos Vigil, Daniel Vigil, Marcelo Vigil, and Ulalio Hernandez.
Left to cherish her memory are her nieces, Apolonia Aguirre, Juanita Vigil, and Sarah Torres; nephews, Leandro Vigil, and Aaron Vigil; as well as numerous other loving family.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 19, 2022, from 5:00pm-8:00pm, with the Rosary recited at 6:30pm, at Finch Funeral Chapel in Nixon. The Funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church on Thursday, October 20, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Nixon Latin American Cemetery.
