Obituary for Eugene Curtis Hill
Eugene Curtis Hill of Nixon, Texas passed on to his heavenly Father on February 5, 2023 in Luling, Texas, at the age of 85.
Eugene was born on November 24,1937 to Owen and Carnie Hill in Taylor, Texas. Eugene earned his GED when he joined the Army. Eugene and his wife Cindy were married in Nixon and spent 41 wonderful years together.
Eugene was also a traveler who worked in the Oilfield in Alaska and was long haul trucker, though his true calling was being a Rancher, he loved and embraced the lifestyle. He enjoyed riding horses, wrangling, and hauling cattle while working in Dewville at the Donegan Ranch for 21 years. Eugene passed on his love of horses to his children and family by teaching them how to ride.
Eugene is preceded in death by his parents Owen Hill and Carnie (Limmer) Hill, along with his brothers, sisters, aunts, and uncles.
Eugene is survived by his wife Cindy Hill (Rhoades), his children Reuben Laging, Gina Sample(Cole), Eugene Curtis Hill Jr., Karen (Hill) Bunch, Michael Hill, Brenda Hill, and Paul Hill. Grandchildren, Cheyenne, Brenna, Raelynne, Leighton, Richard, Emersyn, Stetson, Levi, and Jeffery; as well as numerous other grandchildren, family and friends.
The family extends a special mention to Eugene’s grandson Jeffery Hill and his wife Stella, and great-granddaughter Anastasia for taking such great care of him in his time of need.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 8, 2023, 5:00pm-8:00pm at Finch Funeral Chapel in Nixon, Texas. The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, February 9, 2023, 10:00am, also at Finch Funeral Chapel in Nixon. Burial will follow at the Leesville Cemetery.
