Obituary for Doyle Wesley Pryor

Doyle Wesley Pryor, age 76, went to be with the Lord on August 19, 2023, after losing his earthly battle to cancer. He will long be remembered for his sense of humor, his kindness, and support of his beloved family and friends.

Doyle “Wes” was born in San Antonio, Texas on May 9, 1947, to Wesley and Maureen Pryor. He leaves behind many happy memories for his twin brother, Dennis Clark, his wife Rose, and his big sister Carol Maureen (Pryor) Lohse.

After moving to La Vernia, Doyle met and married the love of his life, Lillian “Lil” Wileman on August 28, 2004. They shared many hours of fun at celebrations and vacations with her brothers and their wives: Larry Wileman and Linda, Charles Wileman and Dannette, Robert Wileman and Maria.

Doyle cherished his time with his many nieces, nephews, and cousins on both sides of his family.

Doyle graduated in 1965 from Harlandale High School in San Antonio where he lettered in several sports. He made lifelong friends which began with little league and continued until they got too old to run the bases. Now they bond on the golf course and will continue to meet yearly at their newly named “Wes” Pryor Memorial Golf Tournament.

Doyle prided himself in his work and received many awards from ATT and Logix for his accomplishments and professionalism.

Doyle was past master of the Army Masonic Lodge at Ft. Sam Houston in San Antonio. The Masons will perform his end-of-life ceremony. Friends and family are welcome to attend the ceremony at Finch Funeral Chapel, La Vernia on September 10, 2023, at 1:30 PM immediately followed by a Celebration of Life at the Copper Door in La Vernia concluding at 5:30 PM.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations in his memory to the Harlandale Methodist Church, 6025 S. Flores St., San Antonio, Texas.
