Obituary for Donna Dixon (Childress)
Donna Childress Dixon, 73, departed from this world on January 25, 2022, at home in Stockdale, Texas, after an eleven-year journey with cancer.
She was born to Med and Ruth Childress in 1948. After graduating from Stockdale High School in 1966, Donna received a Bachelor’s degree in Education in 2 ½ years from SWT in San Marcos, Texas. She received her Master’s degree from there in 1978. She was certified as an all-level Professional Reading Specialist. She was a dedicated teacher in the Stockdale ISD for 35 years.
Donna leaves behind her husband of 53 years, Maurice Dixon, and their three children Bradley, John, and Kassie. She also leaves behind a loving family of a brother and in-laws, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, aunt, and friends.
Donna is a member of the Christ United Methodist Church in Stockdale, Texas. She would like to thank her church family, as well as other churches, and friends and family’s continuous prayers through these past years for healing. Also, the family would like to thank the medical team at the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. A graveside service will be held at Steele Branch Cemetery at 3:00 pm on January 29, 2022, on FM 1107. It will be officiated by Sam Blanco III, pastor of Christ United Methodist Church, Stockdale, Texas.
