Obituary for David Swize

Martin David Swize passed to his heavenly home Saturday, December 30, 2023, at his home in Whitsett, Texas. He was born on June 30, 1940, in Hobson, Texas.

David worked for CPS Energy as a meter reader and later in life became a local home builder and contractor. He was a family man that enjoyed spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren, whenever possible. David also enjoyed ranching, hunting, and spending time at his West Texas Ranch. He was also known to float the Frio River from time to time.

David will be missed daily by his wife of 60 years, Darlene Titzman Swize; children, Janet Moy (Mark), Bryan Swize (Phyllis), Kathy Arms, Curtis Swize (Laurie), Valerie Farris (Justin); grandchildren, Derek Moy, Jordan Rogers, Bracen Arms, Ashton Swize, Brendon Arms, Reid Farris, Courtney Swize, Colton Swize, Kristyn Swize, Braylin Arms; great-grandchildren, Melody Moy and August Moy; siblings, C.J. Swize (Carol), Helen Jo Pawelek (Fabian); numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other loving relatives. He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles Swize and Martha Bludau Swize; sister, Betty Jean Pawelek and her husband, Johnny.
Services for David will be held at the Nativity of the BVM Catholic Church, in Cestahowa, Texas, Saturday, January 6, 2024. The visitation will be from 9:00 am – 10:30 am, followed by the reciting of the Rosary at 10:30 am and the Funeral Mass beginning at 11:00 am.

Father Ian Robbins will officiate the services with interment immediately following at the Nativity of the BVM Catholic Cemetery.
