Obituary for Charles "Charlie" Mikolajczyk

Charles “Charlie” H. Mikolajczyk, beloved Dad, Grandfather, and Uncle, passed to his heavenly home on February 15, 2023, at the age of 85. He is survived by his loving wife of more than 63 years, Rosalie (Dzierzanowski) Mikolajczyk.

Charlie was born in Adkins, Texas on October 31, 1937, to Victor and Pauline (Jarzombek) Mikolajczyk, who precede him in death. Those who have also passed to greet him at heaven’s gates are his brother, Willy, and his sister, Lucille.

After 32 years, Charlie retired as a Detective from the San Antonio Police Department. He enjoyed trips to the coast, farming, his cattle, and visiting with long-time friends and family about old times. He most especially loved spending time with his family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He was so proud of all of them.

Charlie never met a stranger. He would tell anyone who asked how truly blessed his life was. He will always be remembered by his infectious laugh, his kindness, and his extreme generosity.

Left to cherish his memories and carry on his legacy are his children: Charles (Mickey) Mikolajczyk, Jr. and wife Nancy, Cheryl Box (Mark), Charlotte Ahrens and husband Stevie; six grandchildren: Chealsie Kuhaneck (Jeremy), Charlene Steever (Ryan), Tanner Scheel (Melinda), Charles Mikolajczyk III (Rebecca), DJ Scheel (Ashley), and Talon Box; eleven great-grandchildren; sisters: Frances Woodcock and Virginia Tedford; numerous nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 23, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Finch Funeral Chapel - La Vernia, and the Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening at the funeral home.
