Obituary for Betty June French

Betty June French of New Berlin, Texas passed away January 20, 2024, surrounded by love. Betty was born August 9, 1938, in Homer Township, Will County Illinois to Raymond W. and Margaret M. (Simon) French.

Betty graduated from nursing school and worked at Silver Cross Hospital in Joliet, Illinois. Betty enlisted in the United States Army serving her country with pride from 1967 to 1985. During her military career Betty achieved the rank of Sergeant First Class earning the National Defense Service Medal for serving during armed conflict (Vietnam), Overseas Service Ribbon (Japan and Germany), Non-Commissioned Professional Development Ribbon (for NCO Training school), Sharp Shooter Medal for pistol and rifle.

Betty is survived by her sister, Janet L. (Frank) Evans, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Raymond Charles French (in infancy), Robert W. (Wanda) French, Raymod L. French, Lois M. Charles) Parker, Margaret M. (Gordon) Keith.

Burial will be in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, Illinois.
