Obituary for Amber Norris (Day)

Amber Marie Norris "Bam Bam" of La Vernia, Texas went to Heaven on July 7, 2023. Amber was 40 years young. Amber was born on September 5, 1982, in Arlington, Texas. She was the daughter and pride and joy of Sandy Rangel-Woods and Jimmy Edward Day.

Amber is survived by her beautiful family, husband Steven Norris, and her two beautiful sons Hagen Norris and Cooper Norris all from La Vernia, Texas. Amber is also survived by her mother Sandy Rangel-Woods, father Jimmy Day, grandmother Doris Shober, grandfather Gilbert Day, mother-in-law Debbie Cooper, several uncles, aunts, cousins, and countless friends.

Amber and Steven were married on January 1, 2007, in Springtown Texas, and began a beautiful family. Amber was the most loving and devoted wife and mother. Her family was the world to her, and she was so dedicated to taking care of all their every needs. Amber had the biggest heart and the sweetest soul anyone could ever meet.
As a young child/teenager/adult throughout her life Amber was very active and very competitive in sports. One year in high school she was power lifter of the year, winning the State Championship in the State of Texas and was Homecoming Queen at the same time. She excelled in softball and was offered to go to the Olympics. Amber was one of a kind. She has touched and made a lasting positive impression on so many people. She will be deeply missed, and we will always cherish her memories and love in our hearts. Baby girl, you are our guardian angel watching over all of us.

Amber is preceded in death by her daddy, Kenneth Woods; grandfather, Lucas Rangel; grandmother, Delores Rangel; uncle (Godfather) Mario Rangel; father-in-law, Chris Cooper; two cousins, Vincent Christopher Rangel, and Angelina Cereal Briceno.

A visitation with family and friends will be held at Finch Funeral Chapel, La Vernia, Tuesday, July 18, 2023, from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM.
