Obituary for Sara R. Diaz (Rodriguez)

Sara R. Diaz, age 94, of Schertz, passed away June 14, 2016 in San Antonio. She was born on March 12, 1922 in Panna Maria, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Felipe and Crisanta (Guzman) Rodriguez; a brother, Manuelito Rodriguez; and a sister, Leonor Rodriguez. Sara is survived by her son, Reinaldo Diaz and wife Irene of Cibolo; a sister, Amelia Pompa and husband Larry of Nixon; two granddaughters: Brenda Jones and husband Dwayne; and Christina Diaz; a great-grandchild, Kira Jones; two step-great-grandchildren: Stephen and Christopher Jones; a nephew, Armando Pompa; two nieces: Irma Ocanas and Alice Trigo; as well as other loving family and many friends.

Visitation will be held at Finch Funeral Chapel in Nixon on Thursday, June 16, 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM with a Rosary recited at 6:30 PM. The Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, June 17, 2016 at 2:00 PM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Nixon with Father Ouseph Kuriakose officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
