Donald James "Don"  Johansen
MSGT. Donald James “Don” Johansen, USAF (Retired) of Marion, Texas went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, November 30, 2017. Don was born on March 6, 1934 in Chicago, Illinois to Eric Johansen and Mary Louise (Wilken) Johansen. Don retired from the United States Air Force after 22 years of service, and went on to own and operate G & J Heating and A/C of Universal City, for over 20 years. He married Sarah Inglis Sherry on April 3, 1956, in Prestwick, Scotland. Don is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Sarah, and his brother Robert Johansen. His memory will be cherished by his daughters, Maryann Johansen and husband Mike Meeks, Michele Warncke and husband Jim, Sherry Headley and Husband Mark, Robin Hewlett and husband Harry; grandchildren, Jeremy Zigmond and wife Megan, Michaela Gipson and husband Tanner, John Miesen (Meagan Patterson), James Miesen, Jason Miesen, Jenah Headley, Sarah Hewlett, and Hunter Hewlett; great-grandchildren, Ethan, Payzley, Maci and Dallas; brothers, Walter Johansen and wife Pam, and Paul Johansen; faithful best friend and companion of 20 years, Carla Felts; many nieces, nephews, other loving family and many friends; his canine and feline companions “Laddie” and “Big Cat”. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 from 5:00pm-6:30pm, followed by the reading of the Rosary at 6:30pm, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in La Vernia, Texas.
