Obituary for Frank Pompa

Frank Pompa went to be with the Lord on May 3, 2017 at the age of 96 years and 5 months. He was born December 3, 1920 in Union Valley, Texas to Ezekiel and Dominga (Pena) Pompa on the land his family owned for three generations. He still lived there until his death. Frank joined the Air Force in January 1943 where he proudly served his country during World War II and received an Honorable Discharge in October 1945. He was a farmer where he grew peanuts, watermelons, corn and hay. He also raised cattle and did carpentry work in the surrounding areas of Nixon and San Antonio. Frank was a very proud husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was very strong in his faith and loved the Lord and continued to thank his Lord in prayer until the end. He was a member of the Pentecostal Church in Yorktown, Texas. Frank was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Isaac Pompa; a grandson, Robert Pompa; four brothers: Willie, John, Matthew and Ezell Pompa; and a sister, Delia Pompa.

Frank married Lucille Rios in 1949 in Karnes City, Texas. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Lucille Pompa; his children: Ruben Pompa and wife Vickie of Amarillo; Martha Pape and husband Will of Seguin, Noah Pompa of Seguin, Magdalene DeLeon and husband Eusebio of Smiley; his daughter-in-law, Ree Pompa of Amarillo; his grandchildren: Jeff Pompa, Zechariah Pompa and wife Cassie, Michael Pompa and wife Nichole, and Dustin Pompa; his great-grandchildren: Jordan Pompa, Keegan Pompa, Hailey Pompa, Katie Pompa, Emily Pompa and Hayden Pompa; a great-great-grandchild, Kyra Pompa; numerous nieces and nephews as well as other loving family and many friends.

A Visitation will be held Friday, May 5, 2017 from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Finch Chapel in Nixon. The Funeral Service will be held Saturday, May 6, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Finch Chapel with the Rev. John Carmona officiating. Interment will follow in the Union Valley Cemetery. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
