Obituary for Virginia Ann "Ginner" Burnett (Bundick)

Virginia Ann “Ginner” (Bundick) Burnett, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed from this life into eternal rest on March 18, 2017 in Seguin, Texas. She was born August 23, 1935 in Smiley to Dickey and Reba (Anglin) Bundick. She married Gene Burnett on December 17, 1955 and they made their home in Smiley, where they raised four children. She was preceded in death by her parents; paternal grandparents, Alex and Mae Bundick; and maternal grandparents, John Batey and Lula Anglin. Ginner loved her family and community and spent many hours supporting both. She was a faithful member of the Smiley Baptist Church and former school board member. She also spent many hours working on the S.I.C.M. Committee, where she held various offices. Ginner and Gene loved fishing, attending track meets, and spending time with family and friends. She worked at Nixon Livestock and the U.S. Postal Service for a number of years. It can certainly be said she was friend to all and will be missed by all who knew her. Ginner is survived by her husband of 61 years, Gene Burnett; children, Debbie Burnett, David and Janie Burnett, Dickey Ray and Tracye Burnett, Donna and Theron Vasbinder; also left to cherish her memory are grandchildren, Dusty Jonas, Houston and Bridgette Burnett, Clay and Sarah Burnett, Layne Hicks, Aimee Jonas and Luke Hicks; one great-grandson, T.C. Burnett; “Brother”, Richard Summers and wife Linda, Karen Mayer, Morris Bundick, Tom Bundick, Donald Bundick, David Bundick, Linda Snow, Gay Sylvester, and Lisa Gaige; along with a host of friends. A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church in Smiley on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at 11:00 a.m., with Reverend Marvin Miles officiating. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 100, Smiley, TX 78159.
