Joe “Coach” Aguirre, age 67, passed away December 20, 2016 at his home in Smiley. He was born February 18, 1949 in Nixon, Texas to Jose and Julia Riojas Aguirre. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Larry and Freddy. Joe is survived by his wife since December 24, 1972, Beida Martinez Aguirre; his son, Jerry Don Aguirre (Shannon); his daughter, Beijo Rice (Alex); eight grandchildren: River Aguirre; Makai, Javan, Esaias, Sione, Xeila, Beilen, Ananias Rice; his siblings: Estevan Aguirre (Delia), Pablo Aguirre, Patricio Aguirre (Velma), Juan Aguirre, Janie Peña, Josephine Peña, Nancy Cisneros (Manuel), and Caroline Calley; his mother-in-law, Belen Martinez; a brother-in-law, Rudy Martinez (Dora); numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins; as well as other loving family and many friends.

A Visitation will be held Thursday, December 22, 2016 from 5 PM – 7 PM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Nixon with a Rosary recited at 7:00 PM. The Funeral Mass will be held Friday, December 23, 2016 at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Ouseph Kuriakose officiating.
