Mary Ann Koehler, age 81, of Mathis, passed away Friday, December 2, 2016 in Corpus Christi. She was born February 14, 1935 to Adolph Bernard and Olga Matilda (Albrecht) Kirchoff in San Antonio.

Mary Ann grew up in Runge and attended St. Paul Lutheran Church, where she later taught Sunday school classes. She met the love of her life, Denton Ray Koehler, in Runge and they married in the St. Paul Lutheran Church. Mary Ann was known for helping the community as a seamstress and enjoyed crafting porcelain dolls.

Her parents and brother, Adolph Dale Kirchoff, precede her in death.

Mary Ann is survived by her husband of 63 years, Denton Ray Koehler of Mathis; Son, Terry Lee Koehler of Runge; daughter, Dianna Lyn Hughes of Corpus Christi; son, Jeffrey Glenn Koehler and wife Judy of Seguin; grandchildren, Bobby, Ben, John, Jayson, Wendi, Kelleigh, Ashley, Jennifer, Krystyl, Krystyn, Kevyn and Cooper; 17 great-grandchildren; brothers, William “Bill” Kirchoff and wife Dianne of Nordheim and Thomas “Butch” Kirchoff and wife Marilyn of Russellville, AR; sister-in-law, Bernice Kirchoff of Canyon Lake; numerous nieces, nephews and other loving family.

A visitation will take place Tuesday, December 5, 2016 from 5:00pm to 7:30pm at Finch Funeral Chapel, Runge.

Pastor Randy Bruno will officiate the service. Interment will follow in the Nordheim Cemetery.
